GHANA'S CREATIVE INDUSTRY FACE WHAT I CALL 'PLAQUE OF RUBBISH' BY ALETEY BLOG

Its rather unfortunate that our creative industry continues to face what I call "plaque of rubbish" .The music industry has become a playground for just anybody who can enter a recording studio. Our legends keep complaining but no one is ready to listen. The current "nonsense" getting massive airplay now is "one corner" by Pataapa whiles "Angela" by Kwami Eugene or "Odo" by Kidi is gaining less attention .The irony is quite strong. Or maybe the fans are tired of sensible and songs that would stand the test of time. Mr.Eazi isn't only making mockery of us by doing the "one corner" dance, he is telling the world the kind of music we prefer to do now at the expense of our GOLDEN HIGHLIFE.   When we mention  movie industry,Ghana is supposed to have a lot to tell because of our unique and rich culture but we decide copy stories and even copy their accent .Who didn't enjoy "I told you so", "Kweku ananse " and fast forward , "Inspector Bediako"?. Buh what do we see today? Almost every Ghanaian would prefer  "Kumkum bagya " over Ghana made movie. So directors are also forced to imitate these cultures to the extent of directing "Mortal Kombat".Its a pity we would have nothing apart from broken pieces of memories to tell the next generation.
